Riverview Golf and Country Club is the traditional golf club in the area.  With it's dramatic views from the clubhouse to the traditional golf course layout, it is home to many of the longstanding golfing families in the area.  Home also to many city social functions.  In 2002 the formally troublesome greens were rebuilt to PGA specifications.  The greens roll wonderfully and have gentle slopes with small but deceiving breaks.  Club amenities include a Pro shop, Restaurant, banquet facilities, driving range, two practice greens, tennis, work out room and swimming pool.

 A couple neighborhoods are adjacent the course, but the traditional layout and because of how the course is set down along the Sacramento River they are not on the course.

This club stays busy and has a great location in the middle of town overlooking and fronting the Sacramento River.  You need to be careful of the tee shot on #1 and not be distracted by the view, it is beautiful.  left is the river and out of bounds to the right.  The fairways are Bermuda, the greens are Bent and the bunkers are numerous.  The 17th hole is a great little par 3 with a pond just in front of the green as pictured above.

Driving range is surrounded by fencing. Limited flight balls are used to save the homes in the distance, the longer hitters can't hit drivers.

#1 Tee, nothing else need be said....... well ok, its a long par 5 with room to the right for errant shots but left towards the Sacramento River is out of bounds.

#2 fairway, a slight dogleg.  A little fade off the tee leaves you with a straight in shot.

# 5 tee, a slight dogleg.  You can see here the concrete cart paths that are on many holes throughout the course.

#6 tee box.  Like many holes it is protected by trees on each side.  If you miss a shot you'll still have a chance as the trees are not always close together, a recovery is often possible.

#9 tee.  A dogleg par 5 that requires a draw off the tee.  This long hole is only reachable by the longest of hitters.

#14 tee, this very tight driving hole requires a fade between the trees.

# 14 fairway.  With a successful drive the hole opens up and is reachable in two for some.

#16 fairway, this hole has a large tree on the right that can block out a drive down the right side, try to keep it on the left.

# 18 tee requires a well placed shot down the right center, the fairway slopes to the left.  Also lurking to the left is out of bounds the full length of the hole.

#18 green like many others is large, and protected by sand bunkers on both sides.
