Fall River Golf course is a public facility opened in 1977. Home course to the annual Shasta County Open a NCGA points event held each year in the fall. Long and open describes this course along with fair and fun! When it's wet or windy it can be a bear from the back tees, be sure to pick the tees best suited to your game because it can play very long as you can see with the 7400 yard distance from the back tees. This course has very large greens and lag putting is at a premium throughout the course. You should be prepared for a bunch of fun with the wide open fairways while also being ready for some long second shots to the greens. Fall River is always a pleasure to play and is just 70 miles from Redding.
#8,
A lengthy par 3 over a pond with bunkers protecting
the right side of the green make this a hole to reckon
with . A severe two tiered green puts
distance control at a premium.
#9, This dogleg right par 5 is pretty long with another very large green, a two putt is not guaranteed. Watch out for the out of bounds on the left.
#14,
the tale of one hole with two stories. When played
from anything but the back tees it is a straight forward
par 5 with a creek protecting the sloped two tiered green.
Be sure to keep your approach shot below and short of the hole on this
one. From the back tees there is a very narrow
tunnel for your tee shot to navigate
through (picture to the left), miss this tee shot and you can add two to your
score and maybe more. If you play a big Slice or
Hook you're in trouble here.
#15
green, from here you can see the green, across
the 16th fairway and in the distance on the hill
is the Clubhouse.
#15,
a par 3 that requires a carry over the pond to
another very large green. From the tee it
looks a bit more intimidating than it actually
is. Don't put a big slice on this one or
it will be swimming.
#18.
This is a great par five with a true risk vs. reward
element. Finishing on a par five with the chance for
Birdie, It doesn't get much better than that.
